Patna, August 8, 2024: After Vinesh Phogat was disqualified from the Paris Olympics 2024 due to being overweight, a Congress leader of Bihar came with a poster in Patna and claimed the BJP was responsible for it.
Sidhartha Chatriya, the former secretary of the Bihar Congress, targeted the BJP through former WFI president Brijbhushan Sharan Singh.
As per the poster, he mentioned three slogans: Chakraview, from politics to playground, a visible emergency, and India lost, Modi Ji-won.
The poster had photographs of Rahul Gandhi, Vinesh Phogat, PM Narendra Modi others.

When contacted, Sidhartha Chatriya said, “The politics of Chakravyuh is going on in the entire country. Due to this Chakravyuh, Vinesh Phogat was disqualified from the Paris Olympics. We demand an impartial and honest investigation into this matter because we feel that Vinesh Phogat has disqualification from the Olympics was part of a conspiracy.”
“The entire nation was expecting gold from her as she played exceptionally well for the title. Despite support staff being present with the team, it is hard to believe that she went overweight in her category. What the support staff were doing,” he said.
Vinesh Phogat was playing in the 50 kg category and reached the final of the Paris Olympics. She was disqualified due to her weight was found to be 100 grams more than 50 kg.
Following her disqualification, PM Narendra Modi uploaded a post on his social media account and said that Vinesh is a champion of champions.
“Vinesh, you are a champion among champions. You are India’s pride and an inspiration for each and every Indian. Today’s setback hurt. I wish words could express the sense of despair that I am experiencing. At the same time, I know that you epitomize resilience. It has always been your nature to take challenges head-on. Come back stronger! We are all rooting for you,” PM Modi said in his post on Wednesday.
Following the disqualification, Vinesh Phogat also uploaded an emotional post on the social media platform X and announced her retirement.
