Villagers of Nawada attacked a CBI team
Patna June 23: A group of villagers attacked a CBI team in Bihar’s Nawada district on Saturday evening.
The CBI team that arrived from Delhi had reached Kasiyadih village under Rajauli police station in Nawada district of Bihar for the investigation of the NEET question paper leak case around 4.30 pm.
The villagers suspected that they were fake CBI officers. Due to the swift action of the district police, the lives of the officers were saved.
Confirming this, Rahul Ambrish, the SP of Nawada said that 4 persons were arrested in this connection. An FIR was lodged against the alleged attackers and the investigation is underway.
“A team of CBI reached Nawada in the NEET question paper leak case. During the investigation, the CBI officials have seized two mobile phones. However, the villagers suspected that they were a fake CBI team and hence attacked them. In this case, an FIR has been registered and four people including a woman have been arrested,” said Ambrish Rahul, SP of Nawada.
While tracing the mobile location of a suspected accused of the NEET question paper leak case, reached that village. The villagers suspected them of a fake CBI team. They attacked them. The villagers vandalized the vehicles of CBI officials as well.
The CBI sleuths somehow informed the district police about the incident and a team of Rajauli police immediately reached the village and rescued them. They were looking frightened. Rajauli police officials pacified the villagers by explaining to them. In the presence of local police, the CBI investigated and seized two mobile phones from a house.
“We have registered an FIR against 8 persons and more than 150 unknown persons have also booked in this case for attacking the CBI team. The FIR was registered following a written complaint from a CBI official,” Rajesh Kumar SHO of Rajauli police station.
