Patna, June 23, 2024: A CBI team probing the NEET question paper leak case was attacked by villagers in Nawada district of Bihar on Saturday evening.
The team had reached Kasiyadih village under Rajauli police station around 4:30 pm to trace the mobile location of a suspected accused. During the search, the CBI officials seized two mobile phones from a house.

However, villagers allegedly suspected that the personnel were fake CBI officers and attacked them. Vehicles of the agency were also vandalized in the incident.
Nawada SP Rahul Ambrish confirmed the attack and said four persons have been arrested so far.

A team of CBI reached Nawada in the NEET question paper leak case. However, villagers suspected that they were fake CBI team members and hence attacked them. An FIR has been lodged and four persons, including a woman, have been arrested,” SP Ambrish said.
The CBI officers managed to alert the district police. A team from Rajauli police station immediately rushed to the spot and rescued the officers.
“They were frightened. In the presence of the local police, the CBI team completed the seizure of two mobile phones,” an official said.
Rajauli SHO Rajesh Kumar said an FIR has been registered against eight named accused and over 150 unidentified villagers, based on a written complaint filed by a CBI official.
