Upendra Kushwaha lauds the NDA’s women-centric policies, dismisses the Grand Alliance manifesto.

Patna, September 26, 2025: Rashtriya Lok Morcha president and Rajya Sabha MP Upendra Kushwaha praised the NDA government’s record on women’s welfare while taking sharp digs at the opposition.

Upendra Kushwaha said that when the RJD and Congress were in power, they did not do anything concrete for women, whereas Nitish Kumar initiated schemes for women just a year after taking office in 2005.

“Only the NDA government has worked for women from the extremely backward caste, Backward caste, Dalit and Mahadalit communities,” he said.

Upendra Kushwaha rejected the Grand Alliance’s manifesto:

On the Grand Alliance’s manifesto, Kushwaha claimed it would yield no real benefit, adding that the NDA not only makes announcements but also delivers.

Regarding Priyanka Gandhi’s Mahila Samvad program in Patna and rally in Motihari on Friday, Upendra Kushwaha downplayed its significance.

“It will have no impact on the public. Congress may expect some gains, but major changes are unlikely,” he remarked.

Kushwaha expects NDA’s seat sharing will be finalized soon:

Speaking on the upcoming seat-sharing arrangements within the NDA, he said the picture would become clear after the process concludes, but expressed confidence in a positive outcome.

Asked about the allegation against JDU leader Ashok Choudhary, Upendra Kushwaha said he would wait and support the JDU spokesperson’s statement.

The JDU spokesperson Neeraj Kumar earlier said that Ashok Choudhary should clarify about the allegation levelled against him by Prashant Kishor.

“Chief Minister Nitish Kumar should pay attention to it,” Kushwaha said.

He also declined to comment on Tej Pratap Yadav’s poster controversy, calling it a family matter.

The supporters of Tej Pratap Yadav brought a poster in Patna, but did not give space to his father, Lalu Prasad Yadav, in it.

Upendra Kushwaha concluded by noting that the personality and work of big leaders are not developed in a day.
