Patna, December 26, 2025: Amid speculation of a possible split in the Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM), Upendra Kushwaha, the party’s national president, on Friday categorically denied any internal rift in the party.

Responding to the questions from journalists in Rohtas, Kushwaha rejected reports of dissent and appeared visibly irritated by the queries.

“You people don’t have any valid questions to ask. What kind of questions are these? If there are questions worth answering, they will be answered,” he said.

Upendra Kushwaha denied rift after MLAs’ absence:

Upendra Kushwaha’s remarks came days after three RLM MLAs skipped the Litti-Chokha party organized by him in Patna, an event widely seen as an attempt to display unity within the party amid growing internal unrest.

Earlier, when questioned about the MLAs’ absence, Kushwaha dismissed the issue as insignificant, saying it was not worth discussing and that speculation about a split was being raised unnecessarily.

Reports of dissatisfaction within the party gained momentum after dozens of party workers and leaders resigned, triggering speculation that the RLM could be heading towards a split.

Upendra Kushwaha addressed the media on this issue for the first time while interacting with people at the Sasaram council meeting, firmly denying any internal discord or dissatisfaction among party MLAs.

Dynasty allegation and internal discontent:

The internal unrest reportedly began after Kushwaha’s wife, Snehlata Kushwaha, was given a ticket from the Sasaram Assembly constituency, which she won.

Discontent within the party intensified after Kushwaha’s son Deepak Prakash was inducted as a minister, following which a wave of resignations surfaced.

In a bid to counter perceptions of division, Upendra Kushwaha hosted the Litti-Chokha Party.

However, three of the party’s MLAs, Rameshwar Mahato, Madhav Anand, and Alok Kumar, did not attend the event.

The absent MLAs were later seen sharing the stage with BJP National Working President Nitin Nabin, further fuelling political speculation.

Currently, RLM has four MLAs in the Bihar Assembly.
