Patna, September 23, 2025: With the Congress Working Committee (CWC) set to meet in Patna on September 24 Rashtriya Lok Morcha president Upendra Kushwaha downplayed the Congress’s outreach in Bihar, calling it an election season formality.

“As the Bihar Assembly Election is only weeks away, Congress leaders from Delhi are visiting Bihar. After the election, they will disappear. Their presence will not affect the NDA. We will win the election with a full majority and form the government again,” Kushwaha said.

Upendra Kushwaha criticized RJD-Congress alliance:

Kushwaha termed the RJD-Congress alliance selfish, highlighting the lack of clarity on the chief ministerial face.

“Tejashwi Yadav is declaring himself the CM candidate, while Congress says the CM will be chosen after the election. This alliance will not work in Bihar,” he said.

The CWC meeting at Sadaqat Ashram in Patna will see the participation of Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, and over 170 members of the Congress’s top decision-making body.

NDA seat-sharing talks:

Reacting to Chirag Paswan’s demands for respectable seats in the NDA, Upendra Kushwaha said negotiations were on track.

“We cannot take his statement negatively. The seat-sharing formula will be finalized smoothly and soon. Everything is fine in NDA,” he stated.

Earlier, Chirag Paswan’s brother-in-law, Jamui Lok Sabha MP Arun Bharti, said the Lok Jan Shakti Party (Ram Vilas) could contest anywhere between 43 and 137 seats, referencing the party’s past performances in 2015 (43 seats) and 2020 (137 seats).

When asked about Prashant Kishor’s accusations against the NDA leaders, Upendra Kushwaha said, “Those facing charges are in a better position to respond to the allegation.”
