Uday Singh was appointed 1st national president of the Jan Suraj Party.

Patna, May 19, 2025: The Jan Suraj Party on Monday announced its first national president, marking a pivotal moment in its political journey ahead of the Bihar Assembly Election 2025. Prashant Kishor, the party’s chief strategist and founder, declared that the party’s state core committee had unanimously elected former MP Uday Singh alias Pappu Singh to the post.
Addressing the media, Kishor said: “Uday Singh’s conclusion will strengthen the Jan Suraj campaign. It will also reduce my personal workload. Now, leaders like Uday Singh and RCP Singh will shoulder the responsibility of running the party.”
Uday Singh advocated for the people-centric vision:
Newly appointed national president Uday Singh, a former BJP MP from Purnea, emphasized the people-centric vision of the party.
“Jan Suraj Party has been formed on the demand of the people; hence it belongs to the people. We bring a new vision of development for Bihar and aim to provide a credible political alternative,” Singh said.
Speaking on the foundation and growth of the party, Singh credited Kishor’s relentless commitment. “What you see today is the result of Prashant Kishor’s tireless work over the last three years. He gave up all personal comfort in his mission to transform Bihar,” Singh said.
Uday Singh further assured that he would fulfill his new responsibilities with full sincerity and dedication.
“Jan Suraj is an emerging plant we will nurture it. I will first engage with our workers to understand the groundwork so far and then outline a clear strategy for expansion,” Singh said.
Momentum builds with RCP Singh’s entry:
The announcement comes a day after former Union Minister RCP Singh formally joined Jan Suraj, further boosting the party’s political weight and signaling its ambitions to emerge as a formidable force in the state’s political arena.

During the occasion, Prashant Kishor announced the start of his 120-day “Bihar Badlaav Yatra” from Sitabsiara, the birthplace of Jayaprakash Narayan, beginning Tuesday.
The yatra is expected to energize the party’s grassroots engagement across the state.
