Patna, July 16, 2025: After Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s announcement to expedite teacher recruitment, Bihar Education Minister Sunil Kumar confirmed that the Teacher Recruitment Examination 4 (TRE-4) will be conducted before the upcoming Assembly elections.
Speaking to the media in Patna, the minister said that the Education Department has been instructed to immediately calculate vacancies to fast-track the recruitment process.
“We have called an important meeting today and are moving the TRE-4 recruitment process forward with full preparation,” Sunil Kumar said.
Domicile policy implementation in TRE-4:
The minister informed that a legal opinion is being sought to implement a full domicile policy, ensuring that only Bihar residents get the benefits of recruitment in government teaching jobs.

He added that so far, about 12 lakh people have been given jobs and over 14 lakh jobs created across sectors under Nitish Kumar’s tenure, and the employment drive will continue.
35% women’s quota only for Bihar residents:
Sunil Kumar also clarified that the 35% reservation for women in teacher recruitment will now be available only to women residing in Bihar.
“All necessary instructions have been issued for this, and the system will be fully implemented for the TRE-4,” he said.
The Bihar government has previously conducted TRE-1, TRE-2, and TRE-3 exams, leading to large-scale teacher appointments in the state, though the domicile policy was not applied in earlier recruitment rounds.
The Nitish Kumar-led cabinet also approved a plan on Tuesday to provide one crore jobs and employment over the next five years, aligning with the government’s push to address employment ahead of the elections.
