Darjeeling July 20: Three individuals including a Pakistani national, were arrested for illegally entering Indian territory through the Indo-Nepal Darjeeling border on Saturday morning.

The arrest was made by the 41 Battalion of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) during the routine check in a Pani Tanki area under the Kharibari police station at 2.45 am on Saturday and handed over to the Darjeeling police for further legal action.

Three Individuals arrested: Among the arrested were a Pakistani national named Saifullah and two other Nepalese nationals.

Investigation of Darjeeling Police: The Station House Officer (SHO) of Kharibari confirms the incident, stating that the three individuals were apprehended for entering India without valid documents.

“We initially arrested the Pakistani national for not carrying a valid visa and detained the two Nepalese nationals. The Nepalese nationals initially tried to mislead the investigators by claiming they had given Saifullah a lift in their Maruti Breeza car. Due to contradiction in their statements, we have arrested them as well,” he said.

“The accused are set to be produced in the district court for further legal action,” he said.
