Patna, November 20, 2025: Despite the NDA’s repeated attack on RJD over dynastic politics throughout the election campaign, nine newly sworn-in ministers in the Nitish Kumar government belong to established political families.
The RJD has accused the BJP-JDU alliance of hypocrisy, claiming that parties that campaigned against dynastic politics have themselves elevated leaders from influential political families to ministerial posts.
RJD sharp criticism:
The RJD has criticized the NDA for double standards, arguing that while the BJP and JDU repeatedly accused the opposition of promoting dynastic politics, their own cabinet formation reveals the same trend.
RJD has questioned whether ending nepotism is only expected from the opposition, asking whether only leaders with political linkage can now take oath as ministers in Bihar.

Several new ministers come from long-established political families that have held sway in Bihar politics for decades.
Among them, Samrat Choudhary, the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, is the son of former minister Shakuni Choudhary and late MLA Parvati Devi.
Santosh Kumar Suman is the son of Union MSME minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, son-in-law of MLA Jyoti Manjhi and husband of MLA Deepa Manjhi.
Ashok Choudhary is the son of former minister Mahavir Choudhary.
Nitin Naveen is the son of former MLA Naveen Kishor Sinha.
Political inheritance is also visible among the women leaders in the cabinet.
Shreyasi Singh is the daughter of former Union Minister Digvijay Singh and former MP Putul Kumari.
Rama Nishad is the daughter-in-law of former Union Minister Jai Narayan Nishad and the wife of former MP Ajay Nishad.
Other ministers with dynastical backgrounds:
Deepak Prakash is the son of Rajya Sabha MP and RLM chief Upendra Kushwaha and MLA Snehlata Kushwaha.
Prakash is neither an MLA nor an MLC but has taken an oath in the Nitish Kumar government.

Vijay Kumar Choudhary is the son of former MLA Jagdish Prasad Choudhary.
Sunil Kumar is the son of former minister Chandrika Ram and the brother of MLA Anil Kumar.
Following the swearing-in ceremony of the new cabinet in Bihar, the issue of nepotism has once again sparked heated debate.
