The Nitish Kumar cabinet clears 26 proposals including land acquisition push for industrial expansion.

Patna, August 25, 2025: The Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government approved 26 proposals during the state cabinet meeting on Tuesday, with the largest focus on industrial land acquisition across multiple districts.

A total outlay of over Rs 1200 crore has been sanctioned for land acquisition through the Basic Infrastructure Development Authority (BIDA), Patna, aimed at boosting industrial areas and new projects.

Some of the key approvals of the Nitish Kumar government:

The cabinet has approved Rs 52.62 crore for 249.48 acres of land across Tarari block’s villages like Manikpur, Patkhauli, Basauri, Beldiheri and Ranni.

In Sheikhpura, Rs 42.16 crore was approved for 250.06 acres of land in Chewara block, Rs 154.07 crore was sanctioned for 492.85 acres of land in Tardih, Rs 105.27 crore for 270.01 acres across Salempur and Belahi Dullah block, and Rs 376.07 crore was sanctioned to acquire 385.45 acres of land in Bahadurpur and Hanuman Nagar block.

In Purnea, the Nitish Kumar cabinet has sanctioned Rs 66.91 crore for the acquisition of 279.65 acres of land adjoining to Patna-Purnea expressway and Rs 408.81 crore sanctioned for 242 acres of land in Jaitiya village to develop a FinTech City under the GIFT-Saman Industrial Project, adjacent to the upcoming Multi Model Logistic park (MMLP).

Nitish Kumar’s government focuses on industrial expansion:

According to S Siddhartha, the Additional Chief Secretary of Cabinet Secretariat of the Bihar government, said these land acquisitions are part of the Bihar Industrial Investment Encouragement Package 2025, which seeks to create new industrial hubs, special projects, and employment clusters across the state.

The biggest-ticket item is FinTech City in Patna, expected to anchor digital financial services and create a modern economic zone linked with logistics infrastructure.

The Nitish Kumar government has announced an interest subsidy of up to Rs 40 crore for entrepreneurs under the Bihar Industrial Investment Promotion Package 2025.
