Patna May 25: After the first 2 hours of polling in Bihar’s 8 seats, the election commission has registered 9.66% polling on Saturday.

Vaishali Lok Sabha constituency has registered the highest polling here. The election commission has recorded 11.95% polling till 9 am. Siwan has 10.54% polling followed by Gopalganj where 9.49% polling was registered by the election commission.

Besides them, the election commission has registered 9.35% in Paschim Champaran, 9.25% in Sheohar, 9.06% in Maharajganj, 8.95% in Purvi Champaran and 8.55% in Valmiki Nagar Lok Sabha constituencies.

In Vaishali, the main contest is taking place between LJPR candidate Veena Singh and Munna Shukla of RJD.

The Siwan Lok Sabha seat is very special among the 8 seats in Bihar where voting is being held under the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha election. Former MP Mohd. Shahabuddin’s wife Hina Shahab is contesting as an independent from this seat. Vijayalakshmi Kushwaha from JD-U and Awadh Bihari Chaudhary from RJD are in the fray against her. There is tremendous enthusiasm among the voters there regarding voting. People are reaching the polling stations to elect the MP of their choice. Tight security arrangements have been made at all the booths for voting. Central Police Force has been deployed at sensitive polling stations.

The main contest on the Gopalganj (Reserved) seat is taking place between Alok Kumar Suman of JD-U and Premnath Chanchal of VIP. Although a total of 11 candidates are trying their luck from Gopalganj Lok Sabha seat while Alok Suman has faith in the Modi wave, Chanchal Paswan is hopeful of Tejashwi’s claim of giving jobs.

A total of 20 lakh 24 thousand 673 voters will be able to exercise their franchise to choose their favorite candidate from the Gopalganj seat. In which the number of male voters is 10 lakh 22 thousand 771 while there are 10 lakh 1 thousand 902 female voters.

Gopalganj has 2 thousand 6 polling stations. To conduct a peaceful and fair election, paramilitary forces, local police forces and a special team of horsemen have been deployed to patrol the Diara area.

In Paschim Champaran, the election commission has set up 1756 polling stations in this constituency. In a bid to ensure a fearless environment, special preparations have also been made to increase the voting percentage this time.

A total of 17 lakh 54 thousand 210 voters will be able to exercise their franchise to choose their favorite candidate from West Champaran Lok Sabha seat. The administration has also made full preparations to ensure that voters do not face any kind of problem at the polling stations.

The main contest will take place between Sanjay Jaiswal of the BJP and Madan Mohan Tiwari of the Grand Alliance. 

In Sheohar, voters were seen in long queues and a large number of voters were also standing outside the the polling booths. Tight security arrangements have been made at all polling stations in the constituency.

According to the information received from the office of the District Election Officer, a total of 1865 polling stations have been set up in the Sheohar Lok Sabha constituency. The district administration has made special arrangements at every booth for peaceful and fair voting. No candidate will be able to set up his slip center within a radius of 200 meters of the polling station, while no one is allowed to carry a mobile phone within a radius of 100 meters.

The official further said that the Election Commission is keeping an eye on 120 polling stations in Sheohar through webcasting while micro observers have been deputed at 84 polling stations. Apart from this, additional arrangements for videography have been made at all the model polling stations and women-run polling stations.

A total of 18 lakh 25 thousand 237 voters will be able to exercise their franchise to choose their favorite candidate from Shivhar Lok Sabha seat in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The administration has also made full preparations to ensure that voters do not face any kind of problem at the polling stations.

The main contest in Sheohar is taking place between JD-U’s Lovely Anand and RJD Ritu Jaiswal.

In Purvi Champaran, the main contest in Purvi Champaran Lok Sabha is between Radha Mohan Singh of BJP and Rajesh Kushwaha of VIP.

A total of 12 candidates are trying their luck in Purvi Champaran Lok Sabha constituency. Their fate will be locked in EVM today. It will be really interesting to see whether people will shower their love on Radha Mohan Singh who is continuously winning or VIP candidate Rajesh Kushwaha will win.

There are 6 assembly constituencies in Purvi Champaran Lok Sabha constituency and a total of 1743 polling stations are set up in this constituency. A total of 17 lakh 90 thousand 761 voters will exercise their franchise at these polling stations. In which there are 9 lakh 40 thousand 101 men and 8 lakh 50 thousand 639 women, apart from 21 third gender voters.

In Maharajganj, a total of 1916 polling stations have been set up in the 6 assembly constituencies falling under Maharajganj Lok Sabha seat. In which the Election Commission will monitor 958 polling stations through webcasting. At the same time, micro observers will also be deployed at 280 polling stations. The entire Lok Sabha constituency has been divided into 212 sectors.

The total number of voters in the Maharajganj Lok Sabha constituency is 19 lakh 34 thousand 937 in which the number of male voters is 10 lakh 8 thousand 509, while the number of female voters is 9 lakh 26 thousand 424. Apart from this, there are also 4 voters of the third gender.
