Patna May 25: People of 8 Lok Sabha constituencies are showing enthusiasm at the polling centers. They are standing in long queues despite hot weather conditions and using their electoral rights. The election commission has registered 23.67% voting in the six-phase election on 8 seats in Bihar till 11 am on Saturday.
The voting is currently underway in Valmiki Nagar, Paschim Champaran, Purvi Champaran, Sheohar, Vaishali, Gopalganj (SC Reserved), Siwan and Maharajganj from 7 am on Saturday.
According to an official of election commission, the polling in 7 Lok Sabha constituencies are recorded higher percentage of voting compared to 2019 Lok Sabha election.
A maximum of 27.98% voting was registered in Vaishali till 11 am. During the 2019 Lok Sabha election, 25.50% of polling was registered.
In Sheohar, the polling was registered 25.77% on Saturday till 11 am and 21.20% was recorded on this seat in 2019.
Paschim Champaran has registered 23.84% till 11 am while 21.80 was recorded in the 2019 Lok Sabha election.
In Maharajganj, the election commission has registered 23.57% today while 18.30% was registered till 11 am in 2019.
In Purvi Champaran, the election commission has registered 23.10% on Saturday. In comparison to 2019, 22.50% of polling was registered till 11 am
Gopalganj has registered 22.61% polling till 11 am on Saturday while 20.60% voting was registered in the previous general election on this seat.
In Siwan, the election commission has registered 22.42% polling while 21% polling was registered in 2019.
Valmikinagar is the only constituency where the polling in this election till 11 am was registered lower compared to 2019. The election commission has registered 20.11% polling today till 11 am while 21.50% polling was registered at the same time in the previous general election.
The voting for the 8 seats of the Lok Sabha in Bihar is currently
underway and prominent candidates like Sanjay Jaiswal, Hina Shahab and Radha Mohan Singh used their voting rights on Saturday morning.
In Bettiah, BJP candidate Sanjay Jaiswal also voted in Bettiah city.
“The people of the country believe that the NDA will cross 400 seats in this Lok Sabha election. “Abki Baar 400 Paar” is not just a slogan but the people of the country have great faith that the next government is going to form in the country under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi. People want to see him as a Prime Minister again. Many initiatives of centre like free, LPG gas, 5 kg free food grain, toilet, roads, electricity to every house and others are in the mind of voters and they are voting on that line,” Jaiswal said.
Hina Shahab is contesting the Lok Sabha election as an independent candidate from Siwan. She is the wife of Late Bahubali leader Mohammad Shahabuddin. She is up against Vijaylaxmi Kushwaha of JD-U and Awadh Bihari Choudhary of RJD.
While interacting with the media persons in Siwan, Hina Shahab said: “I want to appeal to voters to vote for the candidates who live here and are available for you round the clock. The people of Siwan have seen the candidates belong to various political parties, I want to appeal to them to vote for an independent candidate this time.”
When asked whether she would join RJD in the future, Hina Shahab denied.
In Purvi Champaran, Radha Mohan Singh of the BJP used his voting rights. She went the the polling booth number in Motihari and cast his votes. He is a BJP candidate from this seat and contesting against Vijay Kushwaha of VIP.
“Despite the hot weather, people are turning out in large numbers in the polling station following the appeal of PM Narendra Modi. I appreciate voters for their efforts. The voters will vote in large numbers to make the country strong under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi,” Singh said.
