Tejashwi Yadav wrote a letter to PM Modi on the reservation and Mujra remark.

Patna May 26: Leaders of Opposition in Bihar Assembly Tejashwi Yadav wrote an open letter to PM Narendra Modi on the reservation, constitution and other issues on Sunday.

He uploaded the letter on the social media account X and said PM Narendra Modi came to Bihar only during the election season.

“On Saturday, you came to Bihar again and once again you tried unsuccessfully to confuse everyone,” he said in the letter.

“You shall remember that leaders of all political parties of Bihar met you in August 2021 and demanded the caste census. CM Nitish Kumar was also in favour of it. The proposal for caste census was passed unanimously in the Bihar Legislative Assembly on my initiative. We all demanded a caste census from you but you rejected it. We all were pained by your insensitivity but what can we say,” Yadav said.

“As soon as we came to power in Bihar, we conducted a caste-based survey at the state’s expense. You were also made aware of its reality. Prime Minister, in the light of that survey, we increased the scope of the reservation to 75% and kept requesting you again and again with folded hands to include it in the Ninth Schedule of the Constitution,” Yadav said. He also added that the Prime Minister has an anti-backward and anti-Dalit mentality.

“The Prime Minister did not consider our important request, which had a Bahujan voice in its favour. This demand was also made to the Union Home Minister Amit Shah in the Eastern Regional Council meeting held in Patna on December 10, 2023. PM can ask Amit Shah about it,” he said.

Attacking on Prime Minister Mujra’s remark, Tejashwi Yadav: “On Saturday, PM Modi came to Bihar and said as many baseless, factless and false things publically. Such things are not expected from you. We are expecting good discussion by taking care of the dignity of your post but you have come to the terminology of “Mujra, Buffalo and Mangalsutra. To be honest, we are worried about you. Should the language of the Prime Minister of this big-hearted country be like this? You think and decide, I have nothing more to say.”

The former deputy chief minister of Bihar also raises questions on reservation.

“PM Modi has found a unique way to end Baba Saheb’s reservation because it is available in government jobs under Section 15 and Section 16 of the Constitution. If you end government jobs from railways, army and other departments then what will be the concept of reservation? Shockingly, this serious concern is not in your priorities. We have urged the prime minister many times in Parliament, on the road, in the house to make arrangements for reservation in the private sector so that a wide Bahujan population, Dalit community and other deprived groups get their due constitutional rights,” he said.

Tejashwi Yadav also questions about the free ration programme of centre.

“PM Modi keeps saying that five kg of ration is free. This is the minimum right given by the Constitution to the citizens of our country. Your language and sentiments are basically anti-poor. I have been constantly questioning you on jobs, economic-social justice, inflation and special status for Bihar but your mysterious silence is disappointing all the people of Bihar,” Yadav said.

PM cornered on ‘Bunch of Thoughts’: RJD leader wrote in his letter that how much should I tell you? I can only say that now only one phase of elections is left. Please pay attention to all our demands regarding reservation, constitution and economic social justice. Come and tell directly that you do not agree with the book ‘Bunch of Thoughts’ by your inspiration source Guruji Golwalkar.

“Will you be able to say it? Also say that you agree with the demand to give proper reservation to backward, extremely backward, Dalit, all classes in the private sector as well. If you are not able to say all this then the public will understand that the falling standard of your election speeches is the true reflection of your political thinking. Who can forget that in 1990, when the Mandal Commission was implemented,  you were the charioteer of the anti-reservation chariot along with LK Advani in protest against the Mandal Commission? How can the Bahujan Dalit community forget?” Yadav said.

He also reacted to the reservation of Muslims in Gujarat.

All Dalits, backward-extremely backward and tribal people know that BJP and you (PM Modi) are staunch ideological enemies of Baba Saheb, Birsa Munda, Kanshiram, Ram Manohar Lohia and Mandal Commission. I am also attaching the list of Muslim castes under the OBC category in Gujarat. Perhaps you are not aware that castes of the Muslim community also get reservations in Gujarat. You were the Chief Minister of Gujarat for more than 13 years. So, refrain from spreading confusion and politics of hatred.

“Instead of fighting a democratic battle, PM Modi was threatening to send a 34-year-old youth to jail. Are you not tearing the Constitution into pieces by making such threats? Elections will come and go but do not harm the Constitution, the country’s social structure anymore,” he said.
