Patna, July 24, 2025: A day after hinting at an election boycott, Tejashwi Yadav, the former Deputy Chief Minister, reiterated that if irregularities in Bihar’s voter list revision are not stopped, the Mahagathbandhan may consider boycotting the upcoming Assembly elections.

Tejashwi Yadav criticized Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for not addressing the House on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) issue, asserting that the government’s silence implies it accepts the Election Commission’s allegedly flawed process, which he described as fraudulent.

He stated that discussions would keep the option of boycott open since elections lose meaning if they are compromised.

Lakhs of forms are being filled out at single locations with forged signatures. We have released many videos as evidence. The Election Commission is manipulating the voter list numbers.

Tejashwi Yadav criticized the BJP over the foreign intruders’ issue:

Responding to BJP’s claims that the SIR process aims to remove illegal foreign voters, Tejashwi Yadav questioned, “How such names entered the voter list despite NDA ruling Bihar for two decades and the Centre for eleven years.”

He argued that identifying infiltrators is the Union Home Minister’s responsibility, to the Election Commission.

Tejashwi Yadav alleged that Samrat Chaudhary misled the house on migrant voters:

Tejashwi also targeted Bihar Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary for contradicting his government by speaking about stopping migration, while the Union Labour Minister acknowledged in the Lok Sabha that over three crore people migrate from Bihar for employment.

“If the Centre data is true, then Samrat Chaudhary was lying in the Assembly,” he said.

He further questioned why journalist Ajit Anjum was booked by the Bihar administration. Anjum was reporting the ground reality of Bihar.

Tejashwi Yadav asked why the voter list needed revision again if it had been fully inspected in February this year.

Taking a swipe at the Assembly proceedings, Tejashwi Yadav remarked that some ministers “jump like monkeys” for attention despite lacking experience or substance.
