Patna, November 12, 2025: RJD leader and the Grand Alliance Chief Ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav on Wednesday asserted that the Grand Alliance would form the next government in Bihar after November 14, and accused the ruling camp of trying to influence the electoral process.

Speaking at a press conference at his Patna residence-cum office, Tejashwi Yadav said turnout this year had surged by more than 72 lakh voters, compared with the 2020 assembly election.

This is a massive number of voters who have come out of their houses to vote in Bihar. The polling percentage is almost 10% higher than the last election,” he said.

“This means around 29,000 votes were cast more in every polling booth, and these votes are not for the NDA, but are votes for the change.”

Tejashwi Yadav claimed the result would be even better than 1995:

He said feedback from the ground indicated a stronger mandate for the Grand Alliance than in 1995 and predicted his coalition would be sworn in on November 18.

“The leaders of the BJP are uneasy because of the high polling percentage. They know they are losing by a large margin,” he added.

Tejashwi Yadav dismissed exit polls aired on Tuesday, alleging they were engineered to favour the NDA and to create pressure on officials.

“Voters were still in the queue when exit polls flashed on the news channels. What was their sample size? No one said. Their channels are working in the direction of Amit Shah,” he said, accusing some media outlets of routinely projecting a favourable outcome for the ruling party.

These are the same Godi media that gave more than 400 seats to the NDA in the Lok Sabha and were also forming the government in West Bengal and Jharkhand.

He warned that tactics such as early exit-polling headlines and the deployment of security forces were aimed at creating a climate of pressure around counting and strong rooms.

Tejashwi Yadav said his alliance will not allow vote rigging:

“Your tricks will not work here. We are alert. From strong rooms to counting centres, we will not allow vote rigging,” he said.

Tejashwi Yadav also alleged that paramilitary companies deployed in Bihar had been sent from the BJP-ruled states and criticized what he described as a flag march intended to intimidate officers. He demanded that officials perform their duties impartially and urged voters to remain vigilant.
