Tejashwi Yadav targets BJP on Waqf Act and voter list revision.

Patna, June 29, 2025: Leader of opposition Tejashwi Yadav on Sunday launched a sharp attack on the BJP during the “Save Waqf-Save Constitution” rally at Gandhi Maidan, Patna, accusing the party of conspiring to snatch the rights of Dalits, backward castes, minorities, and the poor ahead of Bihar Assembly election.

Tejashwi Yadav alleged: “This country does not belong to anyone’s father, it belongs to everyone. From Ashfaqullah Khan to Bhagat Singh, everyone sacrificed for freedom. Now, BJP wants to snatch everyone’s rights, especially if it senses losing power.”

He expressed concern over the Election Commission’s notification for preparing a new voter list of 8 crore voters within 25 days, alleging it was a conspiracy to remove the names of poor, dalit, backward, extremely backward, tribal, and minority voters from the rolls.

“They will stop your pension, ration, scholarship, and other schemes by removing your name. Everyone must stay alert to protect your vote, Waqf, and Constitution, and foil BJP’s conspiracy,” Yadav said.

Chaos as drone crashes on stage during Tejashwi Yadav’s speech:

During the rally, a drone hired by organizers for event coverage suddenly lost control and collided with the podium while Tejashwi Yadav was addressing the crowd.

He narrowly escaped injury by ducking as the drone crashed on stage, forcing him to pause his speech briefly while security personnel seized the drone.

Chaos ensued on stage, but the situation was quickly brought under control.

Previous narrow escape at Bapu Auditorium:

This was Tejashwi Yadav’s second narrow escape in recent days. During the conclusion of a student-youth dialogue at Bapu Auditorium, Patna, a glass panel of the main gate shattered due to crowd pressure. Tejashwi Yadav narrowly escaped unhurt.

The rally saw participation from leaders including MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav, Senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid, VIP chief Mukesh Sahani and other leaders of the INDIA bloc.
