Patna May 31: RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav slammed the Nitish Kumar government of Bihar bent on taking the lives of teachers.
The statement of Tejashwi Yadav came after more than 90 people were died due to heat strokes in several districts of Bihar in the last three days. Despite that, the additional chief secretary of Education department directed the teachers to come to the schools. The government schools of Bihar are closed following the direction of CM Nitish Kumar a day earlier after more than 100 students fainted inside the schools in various districts on Monday.
In his post on social media platform X, Tejashwi Yadav said: “The chief minister and his cabinet members are resting in AC rooms and are bent on taking the lives of teachers.”
“What will teachers do without students? There is news of the deaths of students and teachers when the schools were opened in the scorching heat. It is attributed to the stubbornness of the NDA government in Bihar. Schools were closed a day earlier under pressure from the opposition but still strict instructions have been given to teachers to come to school in this deadly heat. What will teachers do when students are not in school? Teachers must be given leave in this scorching heat,” Yadav said in his post.
“Why is the NDA government of Bihar making such inhuman decisions against teachers? Why is the entire cabinet including the Chief Minister hell-bent on taking the lives of teachers while relaxing in air-conditioned rooms?’
Bihar in the grip of heat waves for the last 3 days. Many students fainted in schools in the different districts of Bihar. Given this, CM Nitish Kumar directed the education department to close government and non-government schools till June 8.
The Education Department has issued an order for all teachers to come to school at the scheduled time.
