Tejashwi Yadav said Bihar could no longer afford a tired Chief Minister and retired officials.
Patna December 16, 2024: Leader of the opposition in Bihar, Tejashwi Yadav launched a scathing critique of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, calling for a transformative vision for Bihar’s future.
Yadav stated that the state can no longer afford to be governed by “ Tired Chief Ministers and retired officers” and accused Nitish Kumar of lacking a clear vision, roadmap, or original ideas for Bihar’s development.
Tejashwi Yadav criticized Nitish Kumar for copying his ideas:
Tejashwi Yadav alleged that Nitish Kumar’s governance lacks innovation and originality, claiming the Chief Minister was often ridicules opposition proposals before eventually adopting them. “First Nitish Kumar makes fun of our announcements and criticizes us, calls them impossible, and finally shamelessly copies our own schemes,” Yadav wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
He asserted that despite being in opposition, his party has successfully influenced policy ideas, citing their ongoing studies on introducing scholarships for students and unemployment allowances for the youth. Yadav stressed that Bihar’s progress demands fresh thinking and leadership that can break away from the inertia of the current administration.
Tejashwi Yadav’s vision for Bihar’s future:
Outlining his vision, Tejashwi underscored the importance of women’s empowerment as central to the state’s development. He announced the ‘Mai Behan maan Yojana,’ under which mothers and sisters in Bihar would receive Rs.2500 per month if his government came to power.
In addition to this flagship program, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) proposed several welfare measures, emphasizing inclusivity and social security such as the monthly allowance for disabled individuals would rise from Rs. 400 to Rs. 1500, and Widows currently receiving RS. 400 per month would instead receive RS. 1500, the elderly would see their monthly pension increased from Rs.400 to Rs. 1500, and households would receive 200 units of electricity free of charge each month.
Yadav also promised to eliminate the financial burden of high bills linked to smart meters.
Tejashwi Yadav has shown commitment to building a “New Bihar”:
Tejashwi Yadav argued that these initiatives form the foundation of a “New Bihar,” a state driven by equity and empowerment.
He emphasized that Nitish Kumar’s administration, characterized by fatigue and dependency on bureaucratic inertia, can not lead Bihar into a brighter future. By promising targeted financial assistance and relief from rising living costs, Yadav is positioning himself as a leader with energy and foresight to address Bihar’s pressing challenges.
This comprehensive vision is an evident bid to connect with various segments of Bihar’s electorate women, the elderly, the disabled, and middle-class households while presenting himself as the torchbearer of change in Bihar’s political landscape.
