Tejashwi Yadav reaches out to the Vaishya community, and vows a fear-free business environment in Bihar.

Patna April 29, 2025: Leader of Opposition and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on Tuesday reiterated his party’s commitment to the Vaishya (business) community, asserting that the trust and respect shared with them will only grow stronger in the coming years.
Speaking at an event organized by the RJD Business Cell at Karpoori Auditorium, marking the birth anniversary of Daanveer Bhamashah, Tejashwi Yadav praised Bhamashah as a historical symbol of generosity and self-respect.
“Everyone knows about Bhamashah’s support to Maharana Pratap in his struggle for dignity and sovereignty. We must carry forward Bhamashah legacy and ideals of cooperation, dignity, and self-respect,” Yadav said.
Tejashwi Yadav criticized the double-engine government for imposing various taxes:
He launched a scathing attack on the NDA government, both at the Centre and in Bihar, accusing it of creating an atmosphere of economic harassment and fear among traders and entrepreneurs.
“Whether it’s GST or other taxes, the double-engine government is working against business interest. Crime, extortion, and fear have left the business community insecure. It’s time for you to assess why this is happening under their rule,” Yadav said.

He called for unity among the Vaishya community and assured full support from the RJD in creating a pro-business, secure environment. “If you take one step with us, we will take four with you. Stand with us for your self-respect,” he urged.
Tejashwi Yadav said Bihar need a fresh face, not tired Chief Minister:
Tejashwi Yadav also took a dig at the current leadership in Bihar, saying: “Bihar doesn’t need a tired Chief Minister or a retired officer. What it needs is energy, vision and determination to build a new Bihar.”
Highlighting the achievements of the 17-month Mahagathbandhan government, he cited an investment of Rs. 50,000 crore and the provision of over 5 lakh government jobs, emphasizing inclusivity in recruitment.
He criticized the NDA for failing to fill 3.5 lakh remaining vacancies.
“We had introduced a progressive tourism policy to boost the economy, but Nitish Kumar backtracked at the last moment. Those initiatives have now stalled,” he added.
Yadav concludes by asking for a five-year mandate, pledging to transform Bihar into a business-friendly, fear-free state.
The event witnessed a large turnout from the Vaishya community, signaling RJD’s increasing outreach to trader and business segments ahead of the upcoming assembly elections.
