Patna, June 14, 2025: In a series of bold promises to empower Bihar’s youth and ex-servicemen, Tejashwi Yadav, the leader of the opposition made three major announcements during the public events on Saturday, signaling a strong push by the Mahagathbandhan alliance ahead of the 2025 Bihar assembly elections.
Tejashwi Yadav promised for 100 domicile law:
Speaking at an event organized by the Pal community at Shri Krishna Memorial Hall Patna, Tejashwi Yadav declared that if the Grand Alliance returns to power, the government will implement a 100% domicile law, ensuring that only residents of Bihar will be eligible for government jobs in the state.
“We will bring a 100% domicile policy under which preference in government jobs will be given to residents of Bihar. This will help ensure greater opportunities for local youths,” said Tejashwi Yadav.
He further announced that all application fees for Bihar government examinations will be waived, and the state government will bear the transportation cost for candidates travelling to exam centres within Bihar.
These promises are expected to become a central electoral plank in the upcoming elections, as job scarcity and migration continue to be pressing issues among the youth.
Support for Ex-Servicemen:
In a separate event—the Ex-servicemen conference, chaired by State President Vijay Kumar Yadav—Tejashwi Yadav vowed to set up an Ex-Servicemen Commission if voted to power.
He also promised to revitalize the Ex-Servicemen Welfare Board at the district level.
If we are feeling safe today, the credit goes to our armed forces. Some of the veterans present here have fought in major battles. Their welfare must be our top priority,” he said.
He added that his government would give top priority to implementing the recommendations of the Ex-Servicemen Commission, including the demand for special reservations.
As election season picks up steam in Bihar, these targeted promises appear designed to solidify Grand Alliance’s base among youth, backward communities and veterans—three crucial voting blocs.
