Tejashwi Yadav launched a scathing attack on Nitish Kumar, saying he is tired and hijacked by officials.
Patna December 6, 2024: Tejashwi Yadav, leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, launched a scathing critique of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and that the bureaucrats are not allowing him to speak in Bihar legislative assembly and council.
“Nitish Kumar is being tired and hijacked by officials. They have side-lined Kumar to the extent that he could not speak in the Bihar Legislative Council or Assembly during the previous session,” Yadav said while interacting with media persons in Begusarai during Karyakarta Darshan cum Samvad Yatra on Friday.
Tejashwi Yadav criticized Nitish Kumar’s governance:
Tejashwi Yadav accused the Chief Minister of an allocation of an extravagant Rs.250 crore on his Mahila Samwad Yatra labelling it an “officer’s loot journey.”
“Kumar is now relying on costly measures to connect with the people, highlighting inefficiency in governance,” he said.
Tejashwi Yadav added that corruption and crime are rampant in the state, claiming that no official work is complete without bribery in government offices.
Tejashwi Yadav remarks on farmers’ issues:
Tejashwi criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for failing to fulfill his promise of doubling farmers’ incomes.
“The ongoing farmers’ agitation in Delhi, is a result of PM Modi’s ignorance of their concerns while offering loan waivers to capitalists and not to farmers,” Yadav said.
Response to Giriraj Singh’s Hindu Swabhiman Yatra:
Responding to Giriraj Singh, Tejashwi Yadav dismissed the yatra as a distraction, saying Singh indulges in such rhetoric due to a lack of substantive work.
“He has been union minister for many years but does not have any achievements to go with the people and discuss it. Hence, he used to do irrelevant and divisive Yatras,” Yadav said.
Promises for 2025 Elections:
Tejashwi Yadav pledged that if his party forms the government in 2025, 200 units of electricity would be provided free of cost, and various social pensions, including widow pensions, would be increased.
He accused the BJP of refusing to grant Bihar special status despite JDU’s long-standing demands.
“Nitish Kumar is enabling Modi’s government at the centre while failing to achieve significant benefits for Bihar. Nitish Kumar is completely surrendered before central government,” he said.
Tejashwi Yadav’s remarks underline ongoing tensions in Bihar politics, with a focus on governance, corruption, and socio-economic issues ahead of the next election.
Tejashwi Yadav also condemned the Nitish Kumar government for initiating a lathi charge of BPSC aspiring candidates in Patna.
