Tejashwi Yadav is walking on the path of Hemant Soren to get victory in the 2025 Bihar assembly poll.
Patna December 9, 2024: Tejashwi Yadav, the Leader of the Opposition in Bihar, has intensified his political outreach ahead of the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections.
Inspired by the INDIA Alliance’s recent success in Jharkhand under the leadership of Hemant Soren, Tejashwi Yadav is campaigning aggressively to address issues pertinent to the common people.
His ongoing Karyakarta Darshan cum Samvad Yatra across Bihar has become a platform for engaging with Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) workers and unveiling promises that resonate with voters.
Tejashwi Yadav promised for 10 lakh government jobs:
Building on the achievements of the 17-month tenure of the Grand Alliance government, during which over 4 lakh government jobs were provided, Tejashwi Yadav has pledged to create 10 lakh government jobs if elected to power.
At a public meeting, Tejashwi Yadav promised to provide 200 units of free electricity to all households and pledged to address complaints regarding smart electricity meters.
In Begusarai, he assured voters that pensions for the disabled, widows, and elderly would be raised.
Tejashwi Yadav has actively supported students, highlighting their issues and promising solutions in his campaign rhetoric.
Opposition Strategy to counter Tejashwi Yadav’s moves:
The NDA, led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, is also preparing for the upcoming elections with robust strategies. Nitish Kumar has announced the Mahila Samvad Yatra, aiming to regain the support of women voters. The NDA is targeting 225 seats in the 2025 assembly elections and plans to contest under Nitish Kumar’s leadership.
As political parties in Bihar ramp up preparations for the 2025 elections, Yadav’s campaign highlights a focus on welfare policies and public grievances. By promising job creation, free electricity, and enhanced social security, Yadav aims to consolidate support among youth, women and economically weaker sections, presenting himself as a leader capable of addressing grassroots concerns.
Meanwhile, the NDA’s emphasis on stability and Nitish Kumar’s proven track record underscores a competitive electoral landscape.
The coming months will reveal how effectively these strategies resonate with the electorate and shape the political fortunes of Bihar.
Counterpoints by BJP:
BJP spokesperson Arvind Kumar Singh dismissed Tejashwi Yadav’s promises, alleging that they are politically motivated and lack credibility. The governance during Lalu Prasad Yadav’s tenure, suggests that RJD’s objective is to gain power rather than deliver on the promise.
Mritunjay Tiwari, the spokesperson of RJD said Tejashwi Yadav has proven himself during the 17 months tenure.
“Tejashwi Yadav was instrumental in providing jobs to the people of Bihar and other states. He is a young leader with having vision for the people of Bihar,” Tiwari said.
