Patna, October 24, 2025: A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi remarked that the people of Bihar would not forget the Jungle Raj of the Lalu-Rabri era, Tejashwi Yadav, the Grand Alliance’s Chief Ministerial face, on Friday launched a sharp counterattack on the Prime Minister, accusing him of ignoring major scams and crime under the Nitish Kumar-led double-engine government.

Speaking to reporters in Patna, Tejashwi Yadav said, “I don’t know what Prime Minister Narendra Modi is referring to, but I know he himself mentioned 55 scams that occurred during Nitish Kumar’s 20-year tenure. Why is the Prime Minister silent on the Srijan cam, Muzaffarpur shelter home case, and many others? What action has he taken so far? The real Jungle Raj is when scams happen and no action is taken—that’s the true definition of Jungle Raj.”

Tejashwi Yadav alleged that the BJP-ruled states have the highest crime rate:

The RJD leader further alleged that BJP-ruled states top the list in terms of crime rates, claiming, if we analyse the data, Uttar Pradesh ranks first in crime, followed by Bihar. Five of the states with the highest crime rates are ruled by the BJP.”

Outlining his vision for Bihar, Tejashwi Yadav said, “If I become the Chief Minister, it will be a people’s government—where every citizen will feel like the Chief Minister. Our government will prioritize education, healthcare, jobs, farmers’ welfare, social justice and strict action against criminals and scamsters.”

Tejshwi Yadav highlighted the welfare promises:

Reiterating his empowerment and welfare promises, he added, “We have already announced that every household will get one government job, Jeevika Didis will receive a salary of Rs 30,000 per month along with an additional Rs 2,000 allowance, and contractual employees will be given permanent status.”

Tejashwi Yadav’s remarks came a day after Prime Minister Modi, during the BJP’s Mera Booth Sabse Majboot—Yuva Samvad program, urged party workers to remind Bihar’s youth about the dark days of Jungle Raj and the progress achieved under the NDA government.

Tejashwi Yadav started his election campaign from Banka and will cover five districts, including Saharsa, Darbhanga, Samastipur and Vaishali districts, apart from Banka.
