Patna, September 6, 2025: RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav sharpened his attack on Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and the ruling NDA government, alleging that two decades of their rule have left Bihar in a state of collapse.

Speaking to the media persons ahead of the INDIA bloc meeting in Patna, Tejashwi Yadav confirmed that seat-sharing would be the most crucial point of discussion.

“We all sit together and talk in our meetings. Today’s meeting will discuss many issues, but the most important is seat sharing,” he said.

Accusing the Nitish Kumar government of failing Bihar, Tejashwi remarked: “For the last 20 years, crime has increased, the education and health system has collapsed, and corruption is at its peak. What have those in power for 20 years done? Now, when I make promises to the people, they only copy them. It won’t make any difference.”

Tejashwi Yadav on pension and Mai-Bahan Maan Yojana:

Taking on the government’s recent move to raise social security pensions, Tejashwi Yadav asked, “Why was the pension not increased by more than Rs 400 for 20 years? Now, when we raise the issue, they repeat the same promises.”

He also rejected Water Resource Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary’s allegation of fake forms under the Mai-Bahan Maan Yojana, calling it politically motivated.

“Forms are being filled securely through the public Education Department. Their ground has slipped; that’s why they are making such accusations,” he said.

Jibe at Modi, Trump praise:

On US President Donald Trump’s praise of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Tejashwi Yadav took a sharp swipe: “Now, it’s the tariff going to increase here by 50 to 70%?”

Countering his long-standing criticism of Bihar’s education crisis, Tejashwi Yadav pointed to the decline of Patna University.

He said 20 vocational courses running two decades ago had been discontinued. It has happened due to a lack of teachers, labs, libraries, placement calls and government grants.

“The Nitish-BJP government has destroyed the old institutions like Patna University. Instead of providing jobs and quality education, they are spreading lies and Jumlebazi, he wrote in a recent post on social media.
