
Patna, August 12, 2025: Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav on Tuesday accused the Election Commission of a series of irregularities in Bihar’s ongoing voter list revision, alleging that names of common people are being deleted without notice.
“Bihar has not been given special status, but here democratic rights certainly being violated,” Yadav said while interacting with the media persons in Patna.

Announcing a Vote Right Yatra from August 17, Yadav said the campaign, with participation from the INDIA bloc leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, would raise awareness on voting rights and address other issues, including administrative chaos in Bihar.
He further alleged that even Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha’s name appeared in two different voter lists, claiming the irregularity came to light only after his party’s press conference.
“Of this can happen with a senior leader, imagine what is happening to common people,” Yadav said.
Calling for accountability, he said both the Election Commission and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar must answer, and vowed to take the matter to Supreme Court to protect the democracy and people’s rights.
