Tejashwi Yadav alleges corruption in Nitish Kumar’s Rs 2.25 billion Pragati Yatra.

Patna January 16, 2025: Tejashwi Yadav, the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, levelled serious allegations against Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s Pragati Yatra.

Speaking to the media in Gaya during his Karyakarta Darshan Sah Samwad Yatra, Yadav accused the initiative of being a cover for corruption and claimed that a mysterious “DK Boss” is the primary beneficiary of the Yatra.

Allegation by Tejashwi Yadav:

Yadav alleged that certain individuals are exploiting the Pragati Yatra under the guise of Nitish Kumar’s leadership.

“Some people are looting by putting forward the face of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. We have strong evidence of this. How this game is happening, how DK Boss is collecting money, how DK tax is being imposed, we will soon speak about it in front of everyone,” he said.

He criticized the government for spending Rs.2.25 billion (Rs.2,25,75,00,000) on the Pragati Yatra, calling it a misuse of resources.

“This is not Pragati Yatra but Durghati Yatra (a journey of misfortune),” he remarked.

Tejashwi Yadav claimed Nitish Kumar is traveling with the retired officials:

Tejashwi Yadav claimed that Nitish Kumar is traveling with retired officials who are using the opportunity to get benefits from it. He described the initiative as a “journey of officers’ freedom to loot.”

Yadav criticized the absence of discussions around special state status for Bihar during the yatra. He accused Nitish Kumar of lacking vision and being incapable of steering the state toward progress.

“Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has no vision, no blueprint. Nitish Kumar is now tired. Bihar has now become the Gangaotri of corruption,” Yadav stated.

Tejashwi’s Karyakarta Darshan sah Samwad Yatra:

During his visit to Gaya, Yadav also met with Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) party workers, listened to their feedback, and discussed strategies to strengthen the party’s grassroots presence.
