Patna, November 10, 2025: RJD leader and the Grand Alliance Chief Ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav on Monday leveled serious allegations against the Union Home Minister Amit Shah, accusing him of influencing district officials during the ongoing Bihar Assembly elections.

Addressing a press conference in Patna, Tejashwi Yadav claimed that Shah has been camping in the state capital for several days and was allegedly calling district-level officials and issuing instructions.

“Some of those officials who received instructions from Amit Shah informed me about it,” he said.

“Amit Shah wants to influence officials to win the election. But the people of Bihar are alert this time. They will not allow any manipulation at the bureaucratic level to influence voting or counting,” he said.

Tejashwi Yadav also appealed to the officers to perform their duty honestly and work in accordance with the Constitution.

Tejashwi Yadav criticized ECI for alleged electoral irregularities:

Yadav further accused the Election Commission of India of not handling the electoral irregularities properly.

He cited the discovery of a VVPAT paper slip allegedly found abandoned on the road in Sarairanjan, Samastipur and claimed CCTV streaming from multiple strong rooms had been interrupted several times.

“The Election Commission should clarify this,” he said.

The RJD leader questions the deployment of 208 companies of paramilitary forces from BJP-ruled states such as Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Nagaland, while allegedly not calling from neighbouring states like West Bengal and Jharkhand or any non-BJP-ruled states like Telangana or Karnataka.

“Why is this so? The ECI should respond,” Yadav said.

He also criticized the EC for not releasing gender-wise voter turnout data for the first phase.

“The first phase was completed on November 6. I am doing this press conference on November 10, four days have passed, yet the ECI has not shared gender-wise polling data,” he said, adding that foreign media were also covering this election.

Tejashwi Yadav targets the Prime Minister:

Tejashwi Yadav also accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of defaming Bihar by repeatedly referring to arms, Ammunition and artillery during his speeches, instead of presenting a forward-looking vision for the state.

He alleged that despite talking about crime and corruption, the Prime Minister does not speak about BJP leaders facing allegations, while sharing the stage with leaders accused in various cases. He never mentions leaders like Samrat Choudhary, Dilip Jaiswal and Mangal Pandey.

“Are their corruption invisible?” he asked.

Tejashwi Yadav alleged that during campaign rallies, the Prime Minister shared the stage with leaders such as Hulas Pandey, Anand Mohan, Raj Ballabh Yadav and Anand Singh.

“Are they saints?” he said.

“I have great faith in Ganga, but the stains that cannot be washed in the Ganga River are cleaned more effectively in the BJP’s washing machine.”

Yadav said that the Grand Alliance was confident of forming the government in Bihar, and reiterated the alliance’s key promises, including depositing Rs 30,000 in the bank account of every woman in Bihar under Mai Bahin Maan Yojana, providing a government job per household, Rs 30,000 honorariums for Jeevika Didis, and improved education and healthcare facilities.

“Nitish Kumar has ruled the state for 20 years, Narendra Modi has ruled the country for 11 years, yet Bihar is at the bottom of the development index,” he said.

“They had enough time. Now the time has come to make Bihar Number 1,” he added.
