Patna, August 14, 2025: Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav on Thursday launched a fresh attack on the Election Commission of India (ECI), alleging that it is functioning as the “B Team” of the BJP in the run-up to the Bihar Assembly elections.
“We have been saying from the beginning that the Election Commission is favoring the BJP. Dual voter ID cards are appearing for prominent leaders, including the Deputy Chief Minister, MPs, MLCs and mayors, following the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Bihar. They have names in different constituencies. This indicates the massive scale of fraud taking place through SIR,” Yadav told reporters in Patna.
“Many people are alive but have been declared dead. Several such ‘dead’ people have appeared in the Supreme Court. Many also have multiple EPIC numbers in the electoral rolls.
This is why the Election Commission is hiding the data,” he said, adding that the matter is before the Supreme Court and that the RJD is presenting “every aspect” to the court in the hope of justice.
Tejashwi Yadav exposed dual EPIC cards of LJPRV ML and JDU MLC:
Earlier in the day, Tejashwi Yadav posted on social media two sets of documents allegedly showing that LJP (Ram Vilas) MP Veena Devi and her husband, JD(U) MLC Dinesh Singh, hold voter registrations in two constituencies in Muzaffarpur.
The ECI has since issued notices to both leaders, seeking their replies by 6 p.m. on August 16.

Tejashwi Yadav highlighted the Haryana EVM case:
Tejashwi Yadav also used his social media platform to draw parallels with incidents outside Bihar, citing a Panchayat election in Haryana where, according to him, a candidate was “forcibly defeated” in one booth through EVM manipulation.
“The defeated candidate went to the Supreme Court, which ordered a video graphed counting of all booths. The candidate eventually won, but for three years a fake Sarpanch held the post due to the grace of EVM,” he wrote.

He further referred to the Chandigarh mayoral election, which the court overturned after finding irregularities.
“After that, the BJP government changed the rules for keeping video recordings. Now, after 45 days, the Election Commission will not give you the counting video. When BJP and the Election Commission destroy the evidence, what will you present in court?” he asked.
Calling Bihar the “birthplace of democracy,” Yadav urged people to remain “alert, cautious and aware,” asserting that “Modi and Shah do not want transparency in democracy” and that “the Constitution and democracy must not be trampled underfoot.
