Patna, April 23, 2024: A political war of words has erupted in Bihar after Union Minister Giriraj Singh claimed that Tejashwi Yadav, RJD leader, had accepted defeat before the result of the ongoing Lok Sabha polls.
Tejashwi Yadav’s statement in Purnea was used by Giriraj Singh:
Addressing a rally in Begusarai on Tuesday, Singh referred to Tejashwi Yadav’s recent comment in Purnea, where the RJD leader appealed to voters to either vote for the INDIA bloc candidate Bima Bharti or, if not, vote for the NDA.
“The people of the INDI alliance have put down their weapons before the result. Tejashwi Yadav has accepted his defeat. We are happy that he appealed to voters to vote for NDA,” Singh said.
CPI candidate filed a complaint against Giriraj Singh:
Giriraj Singh also reacted sharply to a complaint filed by CPI candidate Shatrughan Prashad Singh, who is contesting against him from the Begusarai Lok Sabha seat.
The CPI leader had approached the poll body alleging that Giriraj Singh violated the model code of conduct by making a communal remark.
In an earlier rally at GD College, Begusarai, on April 19, Giriraj Singh declared that he did not want the votes of Pro-Pakistan people.
Responding to the CPI’s complaint, Singh said, “I want to ask the INDIA bloc leaders whether they want the voters of Pakistan supporters. I bluntly say that I don’t want their votes.”
Shatrughan Prasad Singh, in his letter to the Chief Electoral Officer of Bihar, demanded action against Giriraj Singh and challenged him to reveal the names of the so-called “Pro-Pakistan” individuals to the Union Home Ministry.
The remarks have intensified political tensions in Begusarai, where Giriraj Singh and Shatrughan Prasad Singh are locked in a high-stakes contest.
