Patna, June 11, 2025: While leaders, supporters, and well-wishers from across the country extended heartfelt greetings to RJD national president Lalu Prasad Yadav on his 78th birthday, a noticeable delay in wishes from his elder son Tej Pratap Yadav drew public attention.

Throughout the day, a steady stream of visitors reached Rabri Devi’s residence to celebrate the occasion.
Social media was also abuzz with tributes for the RJD supremo.
However, Tej Pratap Yadav remained silent until late in the evening, keeping everyone glued to his X (formerly Twitter) account.
Finally, around 5 PM, Tej Pratap Yadav a birthday message in English, writing:
“Heartiest birthday wishes to the leader of the people, voice of the poor, my guide Lalu Prasad. You are not just my father, but you are a movement that inspires justice, courage and change. Taking your ideology forward is not only my responsibility but my religion.”

The delay in public acknowledgment was especially significant against the backdrop of ongoing tensions between the father and son.
Lalu Yadav is reportedly upset with Tej Pratap over the Anushka Yadav episode, which led to Tej Pratap’s expulsion from both the party and the family for six years. Since then, the two have not met.
A day earlier, Tej Pratap had posted a symbolic message on Instagram, sharing a photograph of himself looking at his father’s portrait, captioned.
“The darker the darkness, the closer the morning.”
While his message on X was emotionally resonant, it also reflected the ongoing rift within the Yadav family, which continues to make headlines in Bihar’s political circles.
