Patna, May 27, 2025: Despite being expelled from both the Rastriya Janata Dal (RJD) and his own family, Tej Pratap Yadav has publicly congratulated his younger brother Tejashwi Yadav on the birth of his second child.
Tejashwi Yadav, the former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar and current Leader of the Opposition, became a father again on the morning of May 27, when his wife Rajshree Yadav gave birth to a son.
The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter, in March 2023.
Sharing a photo of Tejashwi Yadav and his newborn son on social media, Tej Pratap wrote: “With the infinite grace and blessings of Shri Banke Bihari Ji. I have the privilege of becoming an elder father (uncle) on the arrival of the newborn. Hearty congratulations and best wishes to younger brother Tejashwi Prasad Yadav and Rajshree Yadav. My affectionate blessing and good love to the nephew.”

The Yadav family is currently in Kolkata, where celebrations are underway to welcome the new member. Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi, and Misa Bharti joined Tejashwi and Rajshree on the day of the baby’s birth.
However, Tej Pratap Yadav remains absent, following major fallout with the family last week.
He was expelled from both the party and the family by his father and RJD national president Lalu Prasad Yadav for a period of six years after photographs of Tej Pratap with a woman named Anushka Yadav surfaced online hinting at a long-standing relationship.

In his defense, Tej Pratap Yadav claimed that his Facebook account had been hacked and alleged that the images were morphed and uploaded to malign him. He appealed to the public to avoid falling for “rumors and conspiracies.”
Despite the allegations and ongoing controversy, his congratulatory message has been viewed as an emotional gesture. Perhaps hinting at a desire for reconciliation or at least a moment of shared joy in a time of personal upheaval.
Sources close to the family say that while congratulations are flowing from all directions, the rift with Tej Pratap Yadav remains a painful and unresolved chapter, casting a shadow over an otherwise joyous occasion.
