Patna, December 12, 2025: After suffering defeat in the recent Bihar Assembly elections, Janshakti Janata Dal (JJD) Patron and former minister Tej Pratap Yadav has re-emerged in an active political role and announced a major expansion of his newly launched party.
Speaking to media persons in Patna on Friday, Tej Pratap declared that the JJD will contest the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections and also field candidates in the upcoming West Bengal Assembly elections.
The opposition in Bihar is weak. I will strongly raise public issues and will soon embark on a state-wide tour to listen to people’s problems,” he said.
Tej Pratap Yadav said that the loss in the Bihar Assembly election had not disheartened him.
Winning and losing are part of democracy. I am not discouraged. I am more energetic and active than before,” asserted.
Tej Pratap revealed that his party is rapidly expanding its organizational network not only in Bihar but across multiple states.
The state-wide membership drive is underway, with a large number of people reportedly joining the party.
He said he is personally visiting districts and enrolling new members.
At an event in Patna, he inducted his state president and emphasized that the organization is being strengthened at the grassroots level.
Tej Pratap claims his party’s national expansion is underway:
The former minister informed that his party has appointed a university professor, Dr. Kumar Ram Krishna, as its chief national spokesperson in Delhi, a move be termed an important step toward national-level expansion.

According to him, many leaders from other parties have also shown interest in joining the JJD.
Indirect jab at Brother Tejashwi Yadav:
While discussing the political scenario in Bihar, Tej Pratap took a subtle dig at his younger brother, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav.
“Some people have become stagnant after losing elections. But I remain active and continue working hard to strengthen the organization,” he said.

Reacting to the recent demolition drive, Tej Pratap Yadav criticized the government, saying, “Before demolishing the homes of the poor, the government should ensure alternative arrangements for them, especially during the winter season.”
