Shivanand Tiwari criticized PM Modi for taking the line of Yogi Adityanath.
Patna November 18, 2024: Shivanand Tiwari, the RJD National Vice President, has voiced sharp criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP’s approach to electoral rhetoric.
His remarks primarily target the slogan “Batoge To Katoge” (“If you divide, you will be cut”), which he attributes to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, widely referred to as “Bulldozer Baba.”
“Modi, after slightly modifying the slogan with the addition of an English phrase, has said that ‘if you stay united, you will be safe’. Who is being warned through these slogans that unite or else you will be cut! It is clear itself that this slogan is addressed to Hindus. Essentially reiterated it, an act he interprets it with divisive politics.
Through slogans, Shivanand Tiwari felt BJP is targeting Hindus with Fear:
Shivanand Tiwari claimed that the slogan indirectly addresses Hindus, emphasizing divisions within their community. That, he claims, reflects an acknowledgment by BJP leaders of societal fragmentation.
“Instead of offering concrete achievements or forward-looking developmental plans, the BJP relies on fear-mongering about Muslims to consolidate Hindu votes,” Tiwari said.
Shivanand Tiwari accused the BJP of its failure to deliver promises:
Shivanand Tiwari accuses BJP governments, both at the center and in Uttar Pradesh, of failing to fulfill their electoral promises, In his view, their rhetoric on unity and security exposes their lack of accomplishments and inability to address voters’ genuine concerns.
He criticizes the BJP for creating an atmosphere of insecurity to gain electoral support, which he deems a failure of governance. Governments, he argues, should instill confidence and ensure security, not exploit fear for political ends.
In a strongly-worded conclusion, Tiwari asserts that a government resorting to such tactics is unworthy of holding power and must be held accountable by the electorate.
Broader Context of Shivanand Tiwari’s remarks:
Tiwari’s remarks align with opposition narratives accusing the BJP of using divisive and communal strategies in its campaigns. His critique underscores an ideological clash, with the RJD and other opposition parties advocating for a secular and inclusive government contrasting with what they perceive as BJP’s polarizing tactics.
