Santosh Kumar Suman re-elected HAM national president unopposed, party charts strategy for 2025 elections.

Patna, June 15, 2025: The Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) held its national council meeting on Sunday where its leaders have re-elected Bihar Minister Santosh Kumar Suman as the party’s national president on Sunday.
The meeting was held at Hotel RR Grand in Banka, where significant organizational and electoral strategies were outlined ahead of the 2025 Bihar assembly elections.
The meeting was presided over by Union Minister and HAM patron Jitan Ram Manjhi, who emphasized the need to strengthen the party at the need to strengthen the party at the booth level.
He stated that Banka was strategically chosen as the venue because it represents one of the districts where the party’s organizational structure remains weak.
“The objective is to energize workers and expand grassroots presence, especially in districts where we are lagging,” Manjhi said.

In addition to Santosh Kumar Suman’s re-election, Rajesh Kumar Pandey was appointed as the Principal General Secretary, while Kamta Rishiashan took over as Treasurer.
The results were declared by Prof. D. N. Sinha of Patna University, who served as the election officer.
Although three nominations were filed on Saturday, all posts were filled unopposed as no alternative candidates emerged.

The council also passed two major resolutions including authorizing the patron Jitan Ram Manjhi and national president Santosh Kumar Suman to handle alliance formations and seat-sharing talks and empowering them to oversee organizational expansion across Bihar.
Focus on Dalits, backward and deprived sections:
The meeting reinforced HAM’s commitment to working for Dalits, backward classes, and other deprived communities.
Manjhi expressed concern over the low representation of scheduled castes in voter lists, despite their high population.
“Our community’s population is large, but names on the voter list do not reflect this. That’s why we are being deprived of our rightful share,” Manhji said.
Santosh Kumar Suman urged party workers to immediately begin a campaign to add eligible names to the voter list, calling it the first step towards strengthening the party’s base.
Suman also highlighted efforts to equip party workers with digital tools and technical support to improve their outreach at the grassroots level.
Leaders from across Bihar, including district and block presidents, as well as office-bearers from other states, participated in the meeting.
The event marked an important milestone in HAM’s preparations for the upcoming elections, underlining its renewed push to increase visibility, mobilize voters, and build a stronger organizational structure in the months ahead.
