Sanjay Jha said 30 NDA MPs met with PM Modi to express gratitude for the allocation of the budget.

Patna February 7, 2025: Thirty MPs of Bihar met with PM Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Friday. Following the meeting, Sanjay Jha, the JDU Rajya Sabha MP, said the MPs of Bihar expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for special support for Bihar in the Union Budget 2025-26.

Sanjay Jha said the previous budget also favoured Bihar:

“We met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and expressed gratitude to him for such a big allocation in this budget for Bihar. He had also given a staggering amount of Rs. 60,000 crore in the previous budget 2024-25,” Sanjay Jha said.

The delegation comprised 12 MPs from the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP), 12 from the Janata Dal (United), JD(U), 5 from the Lok  Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) (LJPRV), and 1 from the Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular).

During the meeting, the MPs presented Prime Minister Modi with traditional items from Bihar, including Madhubani paintings, as tokens of appreciation for the substantial funds allocated to the state in the Union Budget 2025-26.

Notable attendees included Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh, LJPRV National President and Union Minister Chirag Paswan, JD(U) MP from Sheohar Lovely Anand, Darbhanga MP Gopal Ji Thakur (who presented a Madhubani painting), BJP’s Begusarai MP Giriraj Singh, BJP’s saran MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Sanjay Jha and LJPRV’s Jamui MP Arun Bharti.

FM Nirmala Sitharaman announced seven key sectors to boost Bihar’s infrastructure:

In the Union Budget 2025-26, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the formation of the Makhana Board in Bihar and the expansion of IIT Patna by enhancing the infrastructure and academic programs of the premier institute to foster higher education and research.

She also announced the establishment of the National Food Technology Institute in Bihar.

A separate budget has been allocated for the development of the western Kosi canal, the upgradation of Bihta Airport and Patna Airport to handle increased passenger traffic and improve infrastructure and the construction of three new Greenfield Airports in Bihar.
