Patna, October 16, 2025: Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary filed his nomination papers from Tarapur Assembly constituency (164) in Munger district, contesting as a BJP candidate.
The Tarapur seat, which was earlier with the JDU, has gone to the BJP this time as part of the seat-sharing arrangement.
Currently, the JDU MLA Rajiv Singh, who won the by-poll of Tarapur, accompanied Samrat Choudhary during the nomination filing.
After the event, Rajiv Singh said, “Earlier, Samrat used to campaign for me; now I will campaign for him with all my might.”
His statement has been seen as a significant gesture of unity within the NDA, with both parties presenting a joint front ahead of the polls.
Samrat Choudhary said public blessing will drive Tarapur’s growth:
Addressing the gathering after filing his nomination, Choudhary said that Tarapur has witnessed steady development and promised to accelerate ongoing projects with the people’s blessings.

“The pace of development in Tarapur has continued unabated, and with the support of the people, we will complete the remaining projects soon. The people of Tarapur have always showered me with love, and I am committed to taking this region toward a developed Bihar,” he said.
Choudhary highlighted the government’s focus on roads, education, electricity, and irrigation, stating that these projects will be executed with renewed speed and efficiency in the coming years.

A large number of BJP workers and supporters gathered at the Tarapur subdivision office, chanting slogans in support of Choudhary.

The event reflected the high enthusiasm among BJP workers following the announcement of Samrat Choudhary’s candidature.
Earlier on Wednesday, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha also filed his nomination papers from Lakhisarai, making the formal start of the NDA’s high-profile campaign phase in Bihar.
