Rohini Acharya filed the nomination from Saran.

Patna, April 29, 2024: RJD candidate Rohini Acharya filed her nomination for the Saran Lok Sabha constituency in Chapra on Monday, in a high-profile event attended by her father and RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, mother Rabri Devi, Tejashwi Yadav, Tej Pratap Yadav, and Misa Bharti.

A large crowd of party supporters gathered at the district magistrate cum returning officer’s office in Chhapra to witness the occasion.

Rohini Acharya addressed a rally post-nomination:

Following the nomination, a rally is scheduled at Rajendra Stadium in Chhapra, which will feature Tejashwi Yadav, VIP chief Mukesh Sahani, and RJD national general secretary Abdul Bari Siddiqui.

Rohini Acharya will be contesting against senior BJP leader Rajiv Pratap Rudy, who had previously won the Saran seat in 2014 and 2019, though he lost to Lalu Prasad Yadav in 2009.

Rudy claimed Rohini Acharya is just a mask:

After Rohini’s candidacy was announced, Rudy criticized the move, alleging that she is merely a mask and that Lalu Prasad Yadav remains the true candidate for Saran.
