RLJP expelled Akash Yadav for 6 years after he publicly criticized Lalu Prasad and Tejashwi Yadav.

Patna, May 29, 2025: In a significant political development the Rastriya Lok Jan Shakti Party (RLJP) led by former Union Minister Pashupati Kumar Paras expelled Akash Yadav, brother of Anushka Yadav, for six years on Thursday.
Akash Yadav supported Tej Pratap and Anushka Yadav:
The decision follows Akash Yadav’s vocal support for Tej Pratap Yadav, after the latter’s 12-year relationship with Anushka Yadav came to light.
Akash Yadav held the position of National President of RLJP’s Student Wing. However, following his strong public criticism of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav, he has now been removed from the party.
The disciplinary action was confirmed in an official letter issued by RLJP national general secretary Elvis Joseph.
“Akash Gaurav (Yadav), in view of the current political developments, as per the instructions of Pashupati Kumar Paras, you are expelled from the post of National President (Student Cell) in the party with immediate effect for six years,” the notice stated.
Background of the controversy:
The move comes in the wake of a social media post that went viral on May 24, allegedly from Tej Pratap Yadav, claiming a 12-year relationship with Anushka Yadav.
Although Tej Pratap later said his account was hacked, the revelation triggered a major storm within the RJD, leading to his reported expulsion from both the party and family by his father Lalu Prasad Yadav.
In the aftermath of the controversy, Akash Yadav publicly defended Tej Pratap Yadav accusing the Lalu family of mistreating his sister.
“Whatever is happening with my sister and Tej Pratap is wrong. The Lalu Family should be careful while making statements. We have nothing to lose, but Lalu Prasad and Tejashwi Yadav have everything to lose,” he said.
Akash Yadav also stated that if the ongoing conflict wasn’t resolved the matter could escalate further.
Akash Yadav’s expulsion highlights how a personal matter has rapidly escalated into a political escalated into a political controversy, affecting party roles and relationships.
The RLJP’s move is seen as an attempt to distance itself from the dispute and maintain internal discipline.
