RJD state president’s younger son Ajit Singh resigned from JD-U.
Patna May 1: Janata Dal-United (JD-U) prominent leader Ajit Kumar Singh resigned from the primary membership of the party. He is the younger son of RJD state president Jagadanand Singh and joined JD-U in April 2022.
Sources have said that he was not pleased with the party’s top leadership. Ajit Singh was also in RJD but resigned from the party. JD-U’s top leadership has not given any important posts to him. He was working in the organization of JD-U.
Ajit Singh wrote a letter to JD-U state president Umesh Kushwaha and requested him to accept his resignation on Tuesday evening.
As per the content of the letter, Ajit Singh alleged that the party’s top leadership has taken two big decisions without taking the workers in confidence. As a result, the workers are facing awkward situations on the ground and it is adversely affecting the organization. Hence, he has resigned from the primary membership of the party.
“When party workers start taking their stand on the ground, then the top leadership takes the opposite decision. Still, we thought that the Chief Minister would have taken decisions regarding the state, but even after two phases of elections, no announcement was made by the NDA alliance to take Bihar,” Singh said.
“Generally, PM Narendra Modi was making big announcements during the election but this time not. He has not said anything about the special status of Bihar. Even BJP leaders openly said that they would change the constitution. BJP’s agenda has taken a dangerous turn for the democracy of the country but CM Nitish Kumar has not taken any step to control it,” Singh said.
“There is concern in the civil society due to this stance of BJP. In such a situation, as a post holder of the organization, it was becoming difficult for me to go among the people and ask the votes for NDA, hence I resigned from the post and primary membership of the party,” he said.
Ajit Kumar Singh was the younger son of Jagadanand Singh and younger brother of Sudhakar Singh, the RJD candidate of Buxar. Ajit’s youngest brother Puneet Singh is also in RJD.
