Patna, October 20, 2025: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on Monday officially released its first list of 143 candidates for the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, covering all 38 districts across the state.
The list features several high-profile names, including Tejashwi Yadav from Raghopur.
Khesari Lal Yadav is included in the RJD official list:
Bhojpuri Suparstar Khesari Lal Yadav has been fielded from Chhapra Assembly constituency, marking his political debut.
The inclusion of candidates like Renu Kushwaha from Bihariganj highlights the RJD’s attempt to broaden its social appeal, with a focus on backward classes and minority representation.

Other notable candidates include Abdus Subhan from Baisi, sitting MLA Amar Paswan from Bochahan, Anita Devi Mahto from Warsaliganj, Sailendra Pratap Singh from Taraiya, Gautam Krishna from Mahisi, former union minister Jay Prakash Yadav from Jhajha, Vinod Mehta from Alinagar, Bogo Singh from Matihani, Lalit Yadav from Darbhanga Rural, Bablu Kushwaha from Kurhani, Dr. Fazal Fatmi from Keoti, Niranjan Rai from Gaighat, Yusuf Sallauddin from Simri Bakhtiyarpur, Mala Pushpam from Hasanpur and Ravi Ranjan Kumar from Asthawan, among others.
However, seat-sharing with the Congress and other Grand Alliance partners remains unresolved, sparking concerns about the alliance’s internal coordination.
RJD is aiming to make Tejashwi Yadav the Chief Minister of Bihar:
Responding to reports of dissatisfaction among ticket aspirants, RJD spokesperson Chittranjan Gagan said, “If a party has a large support base, it is natural that many will seek tickets. But in coalition politics, the number of constituencies is limited. Every RJD worker’s goal is the same—to ensure victory for the official candidate and make Tejashwi Yadav the Chief Minister.”
Despite the official announcement, discontent has surfaced within sections of the party over ticket distribution.

The first phase of polling is scheduled for November 6, followed by the second phase on November 11. The result will be declared on November 14.
The RJD now moves to execute its campaign strategy.
