Patna, June 25, 2024: RJD leader Chitranjan Gagan on Tuesday challenged NDA leaders to release comparative National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data of Bihar during the RJD and NDA governments.

His remarks came after Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary and JD(U) MLC and chief spokesperson Neeraj Kumar sharply reacted to Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Prasad Yadav’s allegation of a “deteriorating law and order situation” in the state.

Tejashwi Yadav had cited 33 crime incidents that allegedly took place in Bihar after the Lok Sabha election results. In response, BJP and JD(U) leaders asked him to first release crime statistics of the Lalu-Rabri era from 1990 to 2005.

Rastriya Janata Dal spokesperson Chitranjan Gangan said:

“If the JD(U) spokesperson has the courage, he should release a comparative statement of Bihar’s NCRB crime statistics during the Rastriya Janata Dal rule and the NDA rule. All the figures are available on the website of the Union Home Ministry.” He also said Samrat Choudhary should remember that he himself had been a minister in the RJD government.

RJD leader said NDA is an expert in misleading people:

Gangan further alleged that JD(U), in alliance with BJP, had “become an expert in misleading people through lies and propaganda.”

RJD leader cited NCRB data to target NDA:

“Leaders of BJP and JD(U) are living up to the Saying ‘Chor bole zor se.’ The NCRB report is a central government document. If they check it, they will see that criminal incidents have increased tremendously under NDA compared to the RJD rule,” he said.

He accused the NDA of “defaming others” to hide its failures, and alleged that “blaming the opposition is their character and face.”
