Patna May 26: While the people of Bihar are facing severe heat waves these days, there is good news for them as the cyclonic storm Remal developed in the Bay of Bengal and it will hit the coastal areas of West Bengal and Bangladesh.

Due to this storm, the Meteorological Department of Patna has issued an alert for moderate to heavy storms and rain in several districts of Bihar. At present, the storm is passing through the central part of the Bay of Bengal. It will give great relief to the people of Bihar who are facing scorching heat these days. The metrological department has recorded a highest of 44.6 degrees Celsius temperature in Buxar. In other districts too, the temperature remains around 42 to 43 degrees Celsius.

The Capital City Patna was recorded at 40.9 degrees Celsius. Due to the Remal storm, people will get relief from the heat. Under its forecast, the Meteorological Department has predicted rain in Saharsa, Madhepura, Banka, Jamui, Khagaria, Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, Samastipur, Purnea, Araria, Supaul, Katihar, Kishanganj, Bhagalpur, Munger, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Darbhanga and Madhubani in Bihar. The people of these districts have been alerted to stay cautious.

The metrological department officials claimed there will be light to moderate rain in the northeastern part of Bihar while there is a possibility of rain with strong thunderstorms in North Bihar.

An official said a deep pressure is forming over the eastern central region of the Bay of Bengal. It is located about 440 km in the south-east direction of West Bengal. This deep depression has turned into a cyclonic storm by the evening of May 25 and will pass through the coast of West Bengal on May 26.
