
Ram Jatan Sinha joined the Congress in New Delhi.
New Delhi, August 14: Ram Jatan Sinha, the veteran leader of Bihar, joined the grand old Congress party for the third time in New Delhi on Wednesday.
An event in this regard was held at party headquarters in New Delhi where he took the primary membership in the presence of Congress Working Committee member Dr. Nasir Hussain, Media and Publicity Department Chairman Pawan Khera, Bihar Congress President Akhilesh Prasad Singh at the Congress headquarters in New Delhi.
While welcoming Ram Jatan Sinha to the party, Pawan Khera said, “Sinha needs no introduction. He has been a senior Congress leader for a long time. I am very happy to welcome him and it is my good fortune that I am present on this occasion.”
Bihar Congress President Akhilesh Prasad Singh highlighted Sinha’s extensive political career, saying, “Ram Jatan Sinha’s political journey began with the student movement and he held various posts including serving as a cabinet minister in the Bihar government, being elected as an MLA four times and was also the President of Bihar State Congress Committee for an extended period. During his tenure, Congress gained strength and fame under his leadership. We hope that under his guidance we will definitely get strengthened in the upcoming assembly election in 2025.”
“During elections, when leaders were joining Congress, people thought that it was just an election atmosphere. But in different states, many old MLAs, and MPs are returning. In Bihar, many people are in touch with our party and may join Congress soon. We welcome Ram Jatan Sinha in the Congress party and hope that under his guidance, the party will perform well,” said Dr Nasir Hussain, a member of the Congress Working Committee.
“My full effort will be to prove myself right as per everyone’s sentiments. I am overwhelmed by the honor I received today. I will contribute to strengthening the Congress party with full honesty,” Ram Jatan Sinha said.
Ram Jatan Singh was considered a strong leader in Jehanabad, Arwal, and Gaya region of Bihar. He was the state president of Congress in 2005. At that time, Congress had made an alliance with RJD and Ram Jatan Sinha was aiming to contest the election from Jehanabad. As Lalu Prasad Yadav refused this seat to Congress, Ram Jatan Sinha left the Congress party and contested that election as an independent candidate but lost.

After a few years, he again joined the Congress party and left in 2012 after differences arose between him and the top leadership of the party. Now, he has again joined the Congress party on Wednesday.
