Rahul Gandhi paid homage to Rajiv Gandhi on his 80th birth anniversary.

New Delhi, August 20: Rahul Gandhi, the Senior Congress leader paid homage to his father and former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his 80th birth anniversary in New Delhi on Tuesday.

Rahul Gandhi, accompanied by his brother-in-law Robert Vadra, and his son, went to Veer Bhumi and paid respect to the late prime minister. During the occasion, a large number of Congress leaders are also present at Veer Bhumi.

The leader of the opposition in Lok Sabha has also uploaded an emotional post on his social media account X.

“A compassionate personality, a symbol of harmony and goodwill, Papa, your teaching is my inspiration. And your dreams for India are my own. I will fulfil them with your memories,” Gandhi said in his post.

Rajiv Gandhi served as the Prime Minister of the country from 1984 to 1989. He was the youngest Prime Minister of the country. He was assassinated on May 21, 1991, during the attack by LTTE at Sriperumbudur, Tamilnadu.
