Patna, September 1, 2025: Leader of opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Monday launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a massive rally at Dr B.R Ambedkar Park in Patna, vowing to expose the theft of votes allegedly carried out by the BJP in collusion with the poll body.

Addressing a gathering at the conclusion of Voter Adhikar Yatra, Rahul Gandhi said, “We exposed the BJP’s vote theft earlier with the help of the poll body, and in the future we will expose PM Narendra Modi in such a way that he will not be able to face the public.

Rahul Gandhi levelled an allegation of manipulation of voter lists:

Citing examples from Maharashtra and Karnataka, Rahul Gandhi alleged that the BJP manipulated electoral rolls to alter results.

“In Maharashtra, after our alliance of Congress, Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction), and NCP won the Lok Sabha election 2024, the BJP and the poll body added one crore voters in the lists within four months. We lost the Assembly elections because of this manipulation. The same was done in Karnataka,” he claimed.

Rahul Gandhi said that despite repeated requests, the poll body did not provide updated voter lists and video evidence.

“Our team had to manually check voter lists for months to uncover how fake voters were added,” he said.

Warning for Bihar:

Accusing the BJP of attempting similar tactics in Bihar, Rahul Gandhi said that the Voter Adhikar Yatra was launched to make people aware of the mischief.

He hailed Bihar as the land of revolution and praised the youth, women and children for joining the campaign.

“The voice that emerged from Bihar has now echoed across the country. People know BJP is stealing votes,” he said.

Rahul Gandhi drew a sharp comparison between vote theft and the erosion of fundamental rights.

Vote theft means theft of rights, of reservation, of employment, of education, of democracy and of the future of youth,” he said.

New slogan gains momentum:

Rahul Gandhi highlighted a new slogan emerging from the Voter Adhikar Yatra: “Vote Chor Gaddi Chor (Vote theft, throne theft).

He claimed the phrase has gained popularity not only across India but also in countries like China and the USA.
