Ranchi, December 28, 2025: President Droupadi Murmu arrived in Ranchi on Sunday for a three-day visit to Jharkhand, during which she will participate in various programmes in Ranchi, Jamshedpur, and Gumla.
Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar and Chief Minister Hemant Soren welcomed the President at Birsa Munda International Airport, Ranchi. After the reception, President Murmu proceeded to Lok Bhavan under tight security arrangements, where she will stay overnight.
Droupadi Murmu has a program in Jamshedpur:
On Monday, December 29, the President will travel from Ranchi to Jamshedpur, where she will address the 15th convocation ceremony of the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Jamshedpur.
Before the convocation, she will attend the concluding ceremony of the centenary celebrations of the Ol Chiki script, the writing system of the Santhali language. On this occasion, she will pay tribute to Pandit Raghunath Murmu, the creator of the Ol Chiki script, by garlanding his bust.
Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar, Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Trinamool Congress MP from Jhargram (West Bengal) and Padma Shri awardee Kalipada Soren will also be present at the event.
After completing the programmes in Jamshedpur, the President will return to Ranchi and stay overnight at Lok Bhavan.
Visit to Gumla:
On Tuesday, December 29, President Murmu will travel to Gumla, where she will address an inter-state folk and cultural assembly.
Following another scheduled programme in Ranchi, the President will conclude her Jharkhand visit and depart for Delhi.
