Patna, December 30, 2025: Keeping in view the New Year celebrations, Bihar Chief Secretary Pratyay Amrit on Tuesday chaired a high-level meeting with all District Magistrates (DMs) and Superintendents of Police (SPs) to review and strengthen law and order arrangements across the state.
The meeting was conducted via video conferencing and focused primarily on ensuring a peaceful and secure environment on December 31, 2025, and January 1, 2026.
Pratyay Amrit directed officials for a strict vigil across the state:
Addressing the officials, the Chief Secretary issued clear and strict instructions to maintain tight law and order during the New Year period. He directed all DMs and SPs to maintain special vigilance at crowded areas, markets, public places, picnic spots, and major intersections.
He emphasized that prompt and effective action must be taken in case of any untoward incident or disturbance, leaving no room for lapses.
To strengthen security arrangements, Pratyay Amrit instructed officials to ensure the installation of CCTV cameras at all sensitive and identified locations. He also directed that the functioning of existing cameras be regularly monitored.
In view of the prevailing cold wave, the Chief Secretary also instructed district administrations to make adequate arrangements for bonfires for people in need, especially in public places.
Health services and public safety:
Special emphasis was laid on healthcare preparedness. The Chief Secretary directed that all hospitals be inspected to ensure there is no shortage of blankets for patients and that medical staff are present on duty at all times.
He also instructed the deployment of adequate police force in parks, picnic spots, and nearby areas to prevent any security lapses during celebrations.
In view of the increased movement of devotees, the DGP also instructed officials to deploy additional police force at pilgrimage sites. Senior officers were directed to properly brief and debrief subordinate staff to ensure clarity of responsibility and effective coordination.
