Patna, October 6, 2025: Jan Suraj founder Prashant Kishor on Monday claimed that his party will emerge victorious in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, asserting that voters are ready for change beyond the traditional alliances.

Addressing the media after the announcement of the poll schedule, Kishor said, “Last time, both alliances together received 72% of the vote. The remaining 28% will vote for the Jan Suraj Party this time.

According to various surveys, both alliances will lose support.

Even if each loses 10% of their vote share, it will come to us, taking our share to 48%.”

Prashant Kishor further added, “We have been called a vote-cutter party, but we consider that a medal. We will cut so many votes from both alliances that they will be wiped out.”

Prashant Kishor welcomed the two-phase polling decision:

Welcoming the poll body’s decision to conduct polling in two phases, Prashant Kishor remarked, “We have always been studying, and now that the exams have been announced, our tension is over. Today marks the end of bonded labour for the people of Bihar. This time, people will not vote for Nitish, Modi and Lalu but for the better future of their children. Our goal is to create a system where people from Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra come to Bihar to study and work.”

Taking a swipe at CM Nitish Kumar, he said, “Nitish Kumar inaugurated the Patna Metro this time. This was his last inauguration. We have already said that next time, he will not eat curd and Chuda at the Chief Minister’s residence, 1 Anne Marg.

Uday Singh also welcomed a two-phase election in Bihar:

Earlier, Uday Singh, the national president of the Jan Suraj party, also welcomed the two-phase election in Bihar.

“This time, the assembly elections are being held after Diwali and Chhath. Those returning home during the festivals will vote for change in Bihar.”
