Patna September 11: Prashant Kishor, the driving force behind the Jan Suraj Campaign, sharply criticized those who are calling him the B-team of BJP.

Speaking to the media persons in Bihar Supaul district on Wednesday, Prashant Kishor refuted claims from the RJD. He highlighted that the BJP received only 19% of votes in the 2020 assembly election. He emphasized that the BJP lacks significant influence in the state, evident from their reliance on Nitish Kumar to form the government despite his party’s relatively small win of 43 seats in the last Bihar assembly election.

“BJP has no strong leadership or vision for Bihar. I want to tell the leaders of RJD that Jan Suraj is dedicated to the public, and not any political party. Jan Suraj is a B-team of the people of Bihar,” he said.

Prashant Kishor criticized both Congress and BJP for Bihar’s poor law and order and underdevelopment, accusing them of their own political gain. He held both parties responsible for allowing the “Jungle Raj” under Lalu Prasad Yadav and bureaucratic dominance under Nitish Kumar, which, according to him, have left Bihar in poverty and driven mass migration.

Prashant Kishor’s strong statements reflect his aim to position Jan Suraj as an independent and people-focused movement, challenging the existing political status quo in Bihar.

Prashant Kishor also took a sharp jab at Tejashwi Yadav’s educational qualification, questioning why people are surprised when he refers to the RJD leader as “Class 9th fail.”

“When a doctor is called doctor or engineer is called engineer then what is wrong in calling a person class 9th failed. I want to say that if Tejashwi Yadav would pass the class 10th examination, I will not call him class 9th failed,” he said.

Prashant Kishor also mocked Tejashwi Yadav’s claims of being honest for not forging a degree despite the political power of his parents, Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi, both former chief ministers of Bihar. He suggested that the comment of Tejashwi Yadav reflected a concerning attitude toward education.

“Tejashwi Yadav should be grateful to the people of Bihar for being made Deputy Chief Minister despite he is just class 9th pass,” Kishor said.

The criticism forms part of his broader strategy to challenge the political elite in Bihar.
