Prashant Kishor questioned the understanding of Tejashwi on socialism.
Patna, September 2: Prashant Kishor, the founder of the Jan Suraj campaign, issued a direct challenge to Tejashwi Yadav, the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar assembly, questioning his understanding on socialism.
Prashant Kishor criticized Tejashwi Yadav’s knowledge on the subject, stating, “Those who claim that socialism is the way of our ancestors should be able to speak on socialism for even 5 minutes. I challenge Tejashwi Yadav to speak about socialism for 5 minutes on camera. Even if he takes tuition for 10 days, he still won’t be able to explain what socialism is.”
Kishor went on to criticize the political leadership in Bihar over the past 30 years, expressing his disappointment that individuals with little knowledge or understanding of governance have been elevated to leadership positions.
He remarked, “It is the misfortune of Bihar that for the last 30 years, those people have been made leaders who neither have knowledge of the language nor any understanding of the subject. Yet surprisingly, they are called grassroots leaders.”
Reflecting on the state’s rich intellectual heritage, Kishor mentioned that Bihar, the birthplace of great spiritual leaders like Buddha and Mahavir, has a tradition of intellectualism and wisdom. He contrasted this with the perception of current political leadership, particularly referencing Bihar’s Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar, who is known for his engineering background.
“Nitish Kumar is an engineer, so we assumed that he is the most intelligent person in the whole of Bihar, but this is not true. Where Buddha and Mahavir were born, in every village, there are people more educated and intelligent than Nitish Kumar,” Prashant Kishor said.
He emphasized the need for new political leadership in Bihar, stating that more intelligent and educated individuals from various villages should be identified and given a chance to participate in politics. His remarks highlight his ongoing efforts to encourage political reforms and greater civic engagement through his Jan Suraj initiative.
